Hello. M y name is Dyanne and I am an addict. My clean date is 4/2/93. If it changes the way I feel, I am addicted to it. However, Meth and alcohol brought me to recovery.

Hello. M y name is Dyanne and I am an addict. My clean date is 4/2/93. If it changes the way I feel, I am addicted to it. However, Meth and alcohol brought me to recovery.

I am the proud mom of 3 grown children (Brian, Trisha, and Shawn) and Nana to 8 gorgeous grandchildren. My grandchildren are my reason for breathing and becoming more healthy and living a long life. I have 4 granddaughters and 4 grandsons.

I am a substance abuse counselor for 19 years. I worked my way through college after getting clean. I love my job and helping people. I own and operate an outpatient clinic. I also own and operate my own jewelry business. I am jewelry designer.

I am engaged to be married to a wonderful ("normal") man. I have been widowed twice previously. My 2nd husband died of an overdose in 2002. My 3rd husband died from lung cancer in 2009. Food became my drug of choice. In 2008, I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. In 2011, I was hospitalized 4 times with extremely high glucose readings (700 and higher).

In 2012, I opted to have weight loss surgery, after seeing a report on Good Morning America about gastric sleeve and gastric bypass being termed "the cure" for type 2 diabetes. After much research, I went to Mexico and had gastric sleeve surgery. It was a success. At the end of my 1st year post-op, I had lost 70 lbs and 8 pant sizes.

I am now in year 2 post-op and my weight has begun to creep up. 1 lb here, 1 lb there. I am a food addict. I have gained 5 lbs since January 2014. This is how it begins. I am determined to get back to the basics and lose the last 20 lbs.

I workout nearly every day. 45-60 minutes on the elliptical trainer, or walking on the treadmill. Someday, I plan to run a 5k.

My goal is to lose 20lbs. Maintain an A1C of 5.3.
Run a 5k.

My Program:
I am journaling my food intake. Maintaining food intake of 1500 or less. Drinking 8 glasses of water a day.
Exercising/cardio 45-60 minutes a day.

I live in Van Buren, AR. I grew up in Sallisaw, OK

Other Information:
Recovery is a journey, not a destination. 12-steps are a way of life. Nothing changes if nothing changes.
