OK, I have learned a little bit about setting up and using this page and the whole Sparkpeople system, thanks to my friend Tampalark! I have set up my Spark page, and I'm still learning how to edit, and update, and I've learned how to use my fitness tracker, and to pay attention to my points. I run a local weight loss group, and I'm going to introduce everybody to this , so they too can keep track of progress and get support from others. This is great!

So, ...

I run a local weight loss group, and I'm going to introduce everybody to this , so they too can keep track of progress and get support from others. This is great!

So, I've now been a Spark Person for about a year and a half now, and decided to makes some changes, for my page, for myself, and for the New Year.

First, I've really been studying and learning how to use the Nutrition tracker....Now all I've got to do is practice. Just like golf and tennis. After, at first feeling somewhat overwhelmed, I had found it to be surprisingly easy to use, and and amazed at what all it breaks down for you. So I have officially published my Nutrition tracker on my Sparkpage for all the world to see. I know there will be days when there will be junk on it, and I know there will be days when it says ...."you've met your nutrition goals for the day". I know that because I have seen it already. But the best part is, I don't beat myself up if I have a bad day anymore. I know that I will have a bad day, from time to time, and I just know that tomorrow is another day (to borrow a saying from Scarlett O'Hara). But I also know that with using the tracker, I will find that I will have far more good days, just because I am keeping tabs on it.

Second, I'm going to be a better Blogger. I actually love it, and when I get started, I find that I really have a lot to say. I find that I really enjoy talking about "The Biggest Loser", and that should be a recurring theme on my blog. I also enjoy talking about my exercise activities, and I enjoy reading other people's blogs, as well.

Third, and this is probably the best part of being part of Sparkpeople, are the wonderful friends I have made! It so so much fun to talk with people who are "in the same boat" with the same goals, challenges, and success stories. I can honestly say that I look forward to sharing the ups and downs of what we're all going through, and I have made some friendships that I have held onto for over a year! And that's great!

Fourth, is I am going to be using the weight tracker tool. I haven't updated it in months, but I weigh in with my weight loss group every Tuesday, and I will faithfully input my weight in every Tuesday......til I reach my goal! I'm even going to put it in today, even though I went out for the free Grand Slam Breakfast at Denny's with my husband and one of our friends today. We went at 6:00 am, just when they opened. Then I had to come back and weigh in at 8:00 with all that food laying in my belly. I usually make sure I weigh on an empty stomach. I 'm pretty sure I was going to be down today, but I was up .7 of a pound. Ha!

So there it is. I have some new goals for 2010, and they are written out. I still want to make it to 135 pounds, and realistically I'm going to take off 5 pounds a month.

I didn't say anything about exercise, but that's because I have established that as my number 1 priority in life, and I have made great strides with making it a habit. I do get lots of it, and I do get a wide variety. I have learned how to mix it up, and keep it fun too! And that is something that I've learned from some of my SparkPeople friends!

So, on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, I weigh 151.4 pounds. That is up .7 from last week, but it is 25.6 pounds down from my highest weight of 177. And I'm ready to reach my goal!

My goal is 135 pounds

My Program:
I have a good combination of strength training and cardio workout. I lift weights every other day and I do 2o minutes on the eliptical with increasing intensity at every 1 minute for a circuit of 6 minutes. In addition I play tennis, ride my bike, and I'm learning how to play golf.

Personal Information:
I live in Fenton, Michigan. I am originally from Tennessee. My husband of 19 years, and I spend our winters in Plant City, Florida, which really enables me to live an active lifestyle.

Other Information:
I have 2 daughters, and 5 grandchildren.
