Part-time product consultant for well-known health/fitness co. , NGH board certified hypnotist, wife & mom of 1. Cancer survivor, UPW fire walker, mind & body wellness enthusiast. Loves family, music, interior design, baking, Rocky B, & JC. WW life-timer since 2003, & confirmed workout dvd junkie, INSANITY is a favorite. In 2012, ran five 5K races & on 1/1/13 was half crazy enough to sign up for my 1st half-marathon! Guess I'm ready to BRING IT. :)

Surviving cancer nearly 8 years ago has been one of my life's greatest accomplishments. It literally almost killed me, but it only made me realize my true strength! Everyday I count my blessings - my health, my family, My Creator, my senses & all 4 limbs!

Fairly new to the world of running, I'm ready to go from a "rookie" to "rockstar" runner. Planning to use self-hypnosis ( the mind is stronger than the body!) & good old- fashioned sweat & tears to get me there.

So, this year's primary outcome: to RUN like I've NEVER run before. Beat my best times & all the while reminding myself that the only person I should compete with is who I was yesterday. As Tony H. has said, " Do your best & forget the rest." Good-bye, rookie, Hello, ROCKSTAR! :)

I was thinking about doing that one, but decided I didn't want to drive that far, coming from the NW suburbs. I decided to do the Chicagoland Spring Marathon in Schaumburg on May 19.

Best of luck. Don't be nervous. Trust your training, don't start too fast, and you'll do just fine. And have fun!!
