I was introduced to Sparkpeople by a wellness coach at work who suggested it would be beneficial for me to keep track of what I ate. Now that I have found Sparkpeople I am tracking my mileage and keeping track of my progress.

Back in March when I joined Sparkpeople, I was given a weight goal. I wasn't really enthusiastic. I wasn't sure I could lose that much weight.

I have actually met the goals I once considered "optimistic".

Now that I've been with Sparkpeople, I find it hard to believe how much progress I have actually made.

I have actually lost more than 40 pounds. I have gone from walking to running. I look forward to getting even more fit and perhaps running in some local races perhaps even the 2010 Harrisburg, PA Marathon.

Current Status:
DSQUARE22 Ran six miles with Team Aspire this morning. Tonight, my wife and I have a date with the symphony.

My Goals:
I'd like to maintain my weight at about 130-132.
I hope to keep running regularly to get a bit faster and stronger on the hills that are so plentiful in my area.

My Program:
With the assistance of Wellness Coaches at work, I weigh in every Monday.
I stretch and do 25 situps and 50 pushups before going out for a 2-3.38 mile run (according to my Sparkpeople exercise map).
Until recently, I had been walking regularly with my dog/exercise buddy,Tanner. He had other plans when I came with the leash. Now, I run then take him out for another mile.
I watch what I eat with the help of the SP meal tracker. So far, Sparkpeople is helping me to lose weight and get fit again!

Personal Information:
I am a Registered Nurse who has been an Army Officer, a teacher and a bartender. I live in Pennsylvania with my wife and two boys.
It seems so ironic I exercised less and gained weight after I entered the health care profession.
But now that I work daylight hours again, I am watching what I eat and getting out to walk or run routinely.
