** UPDATE **
I am now 38 and a single parent to a 6 year old little boy. My weight has spiraled out of control when I went through a terrible divorce last year. I know I am better and stronger (emotionally at least) now and starting this journey all over. Hoping to find some good support on this site again this go round.

I am 35 years old and have a wonderful husband and 4 year old son.

I have been the text book yo-yo dieter since a car accident when I was 17. My activity level diminished due to multiple injuries; Then I found myself marrying into an obese family who lived off fried and carb loaded foods which added to years of depression and unhappy endings.

I am recently divorced for the 2nd time which has been a huge blow to my already battered self esteem. I have had low self esteem for years, which led to my severe depression after losing my mother in 2004 to Ovarian Cancer (she was only 50). Because food has always been a comfort to me, that is what I turned to in order to deal with my grief. I continue to struggle with losing my mother and yet gaining weight. I have decided if there is something about the way I'm living that could potentially shorten my time with my son, then it's time for a change.

I have been a member for a very long time but I must for the sake of well being start a new life for myself so that I can ensure I am around a long time to care for my now 6 year old son I will struggle, and look for a friend to turn to; so be ready to boost me up!!! :)

I have decided to modify my workouts. I am going to follow the plan below to see if I am able to achieve the results I want:

I will be following the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred at least 5 days a week, once a day.

Adjusting workouts to gear more towards endurance. Purchased a new heart rate monitor, swim cap, goggles and helmet to get myself going. "I'm not in it to win it, just want to say I finished".

Watching caloric intake, eating 3 healthy meals and incorporating 3 healthy snacks in between meals. Drinking at least 2-3 liters of water a day.

I am a big advocate for Ovarian Cancer awareness; I lost my mom to this horrible disease in 2004. I became proactive in 2008 and joined the board of directors for the Norma Livingston Ovarian Cancer Foundation.
