A Brief Bio

My name is Debbie and I am a fundraiser who finally landed a great job at a private university in Foundation Relations in June. I have used my 13 months time off well, growing closer in my walk of faith, volunteered with several organizations, quit smoking (since March 18th), starting walking every day, made new friends, and learned to have a loving heart again. I love to garden, enjoy good food and wine, and read. I want to work for at least 6-7 more years and then spend 50% of my time ...

I love to garden, enjoy good food and wine, and read. I want to work for at least 6-7 more years and then spend 50% of my time traveling around this beautiful world and 50% helping others as a volunteer.

I am still looking for the perfect position and organization I can really get passionate about. Perhaps 2014 will be my year. Would be nice to add to my list of accomplishments this year that I had lost enough to get under the 160 mark. Only 3 pounds to go.

"Time always moves forward whether you move forward or not. Your most effective strategy is to make use of each moment as soon as it arrives.
There's no end to what you can accomplish if you'll just go ahead and get going. Now is what you have, so make now your time to begin."

"You've been given the innate power to shape your life...but you cannot just speak change, you have to LIVE change.
Intent paired with action builds the bridge to success. You can't just want it; you have to do it, live it...BE it!
Success isn't something you have, it's something you DO!

Do not lose courage in considering your own imperfections, but instantly set about remedying them -- every day begin the task anew -"

Thanks a bunch for taking the time to read and comment on my blog, "Not The NSV I Had Planned On..."
Have a fabulous day!

PS: NSV stands for Non-Scale Victory. Although I got a chuckle out of your suggestion that it might stand for "Not Serving Vegetables"! (That would be terrible for me, though, since I'm a vegetarian!)
