Thanks for visiting my page! I am on a long journey of maintaining a healthy lifestyle to be as healthy as possible for as long as possible! I turned 53 this year and have been working out since I was 20. I have a grown son and daughter, a hubby, and a wonderfully sweet dog, Skeet. Thanks for visiting my page! I am on a long journey of maintaining a healthy lifestyle to be as healthy as possible for as long as possible! I turned 53 this year and have been working out since I was 20. I have a grown son and daughter, a hubby, and a wonderfully sweet dog, Skeet. This year I have been privileged to add two new members to our family. A son in law and a daughter in law. Both of which are cherished and loved. I am so blessed! Lately, I am fighting that thing that happens around 50 - middle gain so I am working hard to overcome that which wants to overcome me. I try to get off the couch as much as possible and do a few reps. Doing the elliptical or dog park walk with my 7 year old English Springer Spaniel. I have found that there is no "maintaining." It is always a weight loss plan. Basically, think of maintaining the same way you thought of "getting to my goal" plan. They both do the same and stay the same. It is a caustic mix to try to switch from "weight loss" to "maintenance." Loving life and enjoying this community! "If I started working out when I first started thinking about it, I'd be back by now."

My Goals:
My goal is to maintain my weight. I have been at this weight for 3 years. I teach middle school and am really busy but have try to keep my 30 minute routine up during the school year. I like to spend extra time in the summer walking and adding some hikes to my workouts. I would like to add more yoga to my workout. My family is very supportive!
My Program:
I do a routine of bootcamp 2 days a week. Other days I like to stay active, jump on the elliptical or go for a walk. If the weather is nice, I take my dog to the dog park for a mile run/walk. It takes about a half hour for the whole process and we both feel great after! I guess my dog is my workout partner. I have tried for years getting someone who will consistently walk with me and most people are just too busy to make the commitment. I walk at school when I can squeeze it in. My work days are very active as I teach middle school and am up walking around the room most of the time! "Never choose to be annoyed. Choose to be amused."
Personal Information:
Originally from St. Paul, MN. My grandmother emigrated to this country back in the '20's and met my grandfather at English speaking school. Something I feel like I got from my grandma is discipline: "The successful person has the habit of doing the things failures don't like to do. They don't like doing them either necessarily. But their disliking is subordinated to the strength of their purpose."
Other Information:
My favorite book is the Bible, but I love reading Christian historical fiction. My favorite movies are National Lampoon's Family Christmas Vacation, What About Bob, and White Christmas. My favorite quote is "We must all suffer from one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons." My newest quote is, "It's not the work that's hard, it's the discipline."
