Update 01/02/12:

I let laziness get the best of me during the second half of 2011. Planning to start off fresh in the new year and jump back into running, exercising and eating right. In fact, I' signed up for a half-marathon at the end of February. Fake it until you make it? Guess so!

Hi all! My name is Jessica and I'm a twenty-something who has been overweight since grade school. I've lived my entire adult life as an overweight person and I am just over it. Over and DONE with it.

Obesity runs in my family and my dad is in the restaurant business so that's an unhealthy combo. I was raised on fast food, soda, and without knowledge about what I put in to my body. Now I am finally focusing on my health, educating myself about nutrition and fitness, and taking charge of my weight and my life!

Although I'm not an athlete by any means, I've begun challenging myself physically in ways I NEVER have and am blown away by what can be accomplished when you put your mind to it! In fact, I completed the Couch to 5K program on January 8th, 2011 and plan on running my first race in the first part of 2011. I cannot be more excited about what the new year will bring!

Although I officially joined Spark on 05/23/2010 , I restarted and re-committed myself as of 09/13/2010 and have had so much success since then!

I am SO DONE being the fat girl and in 2011, I will complete my goal of no longer being one! This is, without a doubt, my year!

My Goals:
+ Be out of the "obese" BMI range.

+ Lose 10% of my start weight.

+ Get out of the 170s

+ Run a 5K. (Unofficial 5K completed on 01/11/11)

+ Get out of the 160s.

+ Lose 20% of my start weight.

+ Run a 10K in 2012.

+Run a half marathon in 2012.

+Be in the healthy BMI range.

+ Be at my target weight (125) by September 2012.

My Program:
I use recipes from SparkPeople, CookingLight.com, EatingWell.com, Rocco DiSpirito's "Now Eat This," and Jillian's "Master Your Metabolism" cookbook.

My workout program consists of Jillian Michaels DVDs, Bob Harper DVDs, Biggest Loser workouts, Yoga & Pilates videos and the C25K program.

I use both SparkPeople and my BodyMedia Fit to track calories/activity.
