Life is such an adventure

Wow I'm gonna be 53 this year and the older I get the more I realize how precious my life is and how quickly it is going by. You only get one shot at life. Thats it. One go around. No do-overs. I love to try new things and I have always in the past let my weight dictate the things in life that I would/could partake in. How sad. I am so tired of that. Last year I shed 45 pounds and 20 of those have found there way back. Im in the process of losing them and then some more. I'm going to change my ...

Last year I shed 45 pounds and 20 of those have found there way back. Im in the process of losing them and then some more. I'm going to change my life. I spent last year learning portion control and calorie content and what choices are better for you. I learned how important dinking water is and eating less processed foods really does make me feel better. I learned what cardio really is (not a stroll to the end of the block lol) I learned I can run a 5k. I learned everything I needed to know to lose weight. This year Im striving to make it all second nature. I want to truly

my life style. How bad do I want it? How much do I like the life being 45 pounds lighter allows me to have? Stay Tuned........

Thank you for your kind comments on my 5k to Marathon blog. I'm always unsure about my blogging, and this is all new to me, so I'm glad some folks are enjoying or even inspired by my blogs. Go for that 5k. It wasn't so long ago that I was really scared of doing one. You will surprise yourself.

Since you asked for an easy recipe...

http://allrecipes.com/recipe/herbed-lent
ils-and-rice/detail.aspx
This was my gateway to brown rice AND lentils.

Try it once close to the recipe, and just think about all the variations. You can easily spin it Italian or Mexican. I don't use the cheese, but put some yogurt on the side. Once you have the basics, it is easy to dress up or down.

ETA: I see you're on a crockpot team. Did I already share this link with you?

Best read that again! emoticon I couldn't run 9 miles an hour if a bear was chasing me! I ran 5 9-minute miles, which is the evil pace of 6.66 miles an hour. emoticon
