Dragons are forever

I know we are expected to put interesting facts about ourselves on this page, however, I don’t see myself as interesting nor do I think I can say anything here to make people think I am a nice guy.
It is very hard for a very private man such as I to write anything about himself.
I am a medically retired military person, (Navy), and I was married once to the torment of my life. I finally had enough in 1980 and against my personal belief, got a divorce.

It is very hard for a very private man such as I to write anything about himself.
I am a medically retired military person, (Navy), and I was married once to the torment of my life. I finally had enough in 1980 and against my personal belief, got a divorce.
I have worked in the computer industry for many years as well as many other things. I am easily bored and usually do several things at once such as owning a restaurant and working as the Vice president of a small computer company and later owning a few computer stores. I suffered for many years in silence with a tumor growing in my stomach until it got to the point that I had a triple ventral hernia along with a 26 pound tumor in my abdomen. I was given 2 months to live in September of 2004. Since I had only one lung and emphysema as well as a few other things like Brochiectasis, High Blood Pressure, and Diabetes, I was considered a non operable candidate. October of 2004 I found a physician that was willing to take a gamble to save my life. He removed the tumor and repaired my herniated abdomen with a 10 inch delcon patch. (Note photo of Belly Staples)
I have since found out I had degenerative arthritis of the soft tissue of my joints and something called “Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy”. This causes my legs to give out without warning and I may fall such as I did in April of 2005 where I broke my Humeral ball in my left shoulder into 15 separate pieces. Because of the arthritis the shoulder will never heal. I have about 60% usage. It will progressively worsen to a point where I will only be able to use the arm as a sleeve filler. I wear a brace on my knees, and use a walker. (The problem with the walker is that it is only a false security as I can not hold any weight on my left arm, so I push the walker as a place to sit in an emergency.
I broke my back in 5 places and lost a lung in an airplane crash many years ago, so I have constant back pain.
I take 37 different prescribed medications a day and feel like a walking pharmacy. I have an oxygen concentrator and use a Nebulizer 4 times a day. I stopped driving some time ago because of my legs going numb.
Well, the good news is that 1) I did not die in 2004. 1) I was 398 pound in September 2004 and am down to 285 now. 3) I look at each day as a gift. 4) I have found Spark People and some precious friends I never thought I would meet such as the Pele sisters, Trish, Ximora, and Cruella Deville, whom I like to call Diva Deville. Not to mention a person that makes me smile every day, Shelly, my weight loss buddy.
I use the Draco picture as I have a motorhome, 30 years old, that I got for peanuts and am rebuilding. I named it Draco and am having that photo made into decals for the Coach.
On MSN and Paltalk I go by Cedarhurst.
My friends call me Cedar. I got the name from the 1820's homestead I live on called Cedarhurst.
Now that I have bored everyone silly, I'll shut up.

My goal is to be at 220 pounds by next August, 2007.

My Program:
I eat 5 meals a day of about 300 cals each and either a Glucerna Snack bar or a Glucerna Shake to maintain my 2000 to 2100 cal count.

I walk as often and as long as my knees and back will allow.

I never allow anyone to prepare my meals or a plate of food as they tend to give me too much.

When eating away from home I eat salads and veggies first.

I eat at least 2 fruits a day.

I limit my breats to whole grain in wheat only,

I eat 5 meals of fish each week.

Never eat any meats less than 95 % lean.

I thought you could use some beauty in your life today,
so I'm sending you this greeting
to let you know that someone care's
and sending some good wishes your way.
May your day be touched with sunshine,
your heart overflow with love,
and your soul sing with hope.
May everything in your life sparkle
with a radiance that comes only from happiness.
