Build endurance and strength so I can travel and work in my garden with ease.
Reduce the effects of a chronic autoimmune illness as much as possible.
I'm going SLOWLY. From past experience, I know that I CAN lose weight quickly but I gain it back (and then some) just as fast. My goal is to lose 1 lb per week. If I start to feel deprived, I will adjust to a lower amount per week. Right now, my calorie intake is approx what I would eat to maintain a healthy weight once I reach my goal - so I figure I'm on a path to lifelong maintenance already!
