Thanks for the blog comment. I am definitely taking this time of not having a scale to eat more and worry less. I just hope that doesn't translate to a bunch of weight gained!! Once my shoulder gets sorted out I may feel less stressed and be able to get back to losing some weight!

Thanks for the goodie :) I hope you are able to get your shower taken care of. Leaking showers are no good!!

Typically in a situation like that you have to remove several rows of tiles to get above the leaking area to remove and replace the backing board. Also would have to check to make sure that there is not rot or mold in the structure of the walls. After doing any needed repairs and installing new backing board you can replace the tiles with new larger or smaller ones to create the proper gaps or you can use the same size tiles and make sure to cut one row shorter to be able to create the proper gaps. Then grout, caulk (if necessary) and perhaps use a grout sealer to help water proof the area (grout is porous and can sometimes leech water through.

Might be easier and more economical to pull out all of the tile, make the necessary repairs and install a vinyl (plastic) shower surround. They're not as classy, but they have far fewer seams to worry about leaking (2-3 and sometimes no seams at all, depends on the style and size of the shower).

Thanks for stopping by & for commenting on my Does It Count? blog. Seemed like it should count, but I didn't put it on my tracker.
