Well said, Spark buddy! One of my goals is to ride my bike to work. I am not sure how long it would take me, but for the past two years I thought about doing it on the last day of school. Maybe this year???
Hey thx for the cheers of support! Mondays are one of my most consistently attended Spinning classes and I always get about 45 mins. of ST out of the way beforehand. Too muggy and potentially stormy for a cycling commute anyhow...lol! :-)
I wandered over here, seeing that my pal, DDOORN had commented on your last blog. Re: you time on the *left* coast...ahhhhhhhh -- the Marin Headlands, a hiker's paradise!
Sorry to hear about the challenges the body is presenting to you. I'm afraid I have purdy much *0* to NO confidence in the "industrial medical complex" as I call it (it is BG BIZ & BIG $$$, in case anyone hadn't noticed). There are, scattered among the group, professionals who are committed, always learning, always pushing toward new expertise, willing to include "outside the box" considerations -- but they are few-and-far between in my experience over the years. I am fascinated by, and would explore if needed, health professionals such as osteopaths, homeopaths, naturopaths in the mix. Certainly in the SFBA all of these alternatives would be available.
I am 71 years old and, although genetically I didn't have the best *deck dealt me,* I have tried to compensate with lifestyle changes and so-far-so-good. My typical daily cardio is 10 miles (12 mph average -- wimpy I know) on my bicycle. I do the Fall Bike Classic, 35 miles, and other longer rides from time-to-time. But I don't try to compete with my friend, "young'un" DDOORN, in his century rides LOL!
Good luck to you searching in the "right" places for answers to optimal well-being, wherever that may be!
