Joining a SparkTeam can really help you get the most out of SparkPeople...jump in and post your trials, tribs and successes on the message boards...there is SOOOO much support out there!
My big three recommendations to newbies? 1) Water, water and MORE water...! Douse your hunger away! 8 is the BARE MINIMUM as far as I'm concerned...I routinely consume 3-4 quarts of water daily! If you are a soda / pop drinker, I suspect you'll soon lose your taste for that and come to appreciate good old "Adam's Ale"...you just can't improve on Mother Nature! :-)
2) Bump up the quality of your food intake...especially VEGGIES and fruit! Stay as unprocessed as possible with your food choices.
3) Bump up the frequency, duration and intensity of your workouts! During my first year or so of recovering my health I did cardio...mostly treadmill work...EVERY DAY! No breaks! My body THRIVED and the pounds quickly dropped!
Soon you'll be doing all the things your body won't currently allow you to do...start dreaming about stuff either you used to do but no longer can or things you've NEVER done that you will want to try when you are able! Get excited about the possibilities you'll be seeing for yourself! Woo hoo!
