I think this pretty much sums up where I am at right now. I've made tremendous changes since joining Spark, but I still have a ways to go. I'm comforted in knowing that there is a community of people that I can talk with who have either gone through it, are in the trenches, or beginning their journey. I have received assistance from many, and appreciate it.

I think this pretty much sums up where I am at right now. I've made tremendous changes since joining Spark, but I still have a ways to go. I'm comforted in knowing that there is a community of people that I can talk with who have either gone through it, are in the trenches, or beginning their journey. I have received assistance from many, and appreciate it.

I never thought that at this point in my life, my biggest joy would be training for a 1/2 marathon (completed). I've gone from struggling to complete 1 mile on a track, to walking more than 4 miles daily on the treadmill. Working out has become part of my daily lifestyle.

I am growing and developing into the person I was destined to be one day at a time.

8/28/12 Update: I'm so excited that my youngest daughter is now an active member of SparkPeople! I have only been shouting it's praises for 4 years now. So, to top it off, she is training for the Tough Mudder in June 2013. I have agreed to participate with her, but I must build upper body strength in order to qualify to be of benefit to anyone on the team. Wish us luck as we move forward in our health quest.

My Goals:
Fall 5% Challenge Commitment

1. I plan on exercising a minimal of 5 days per week. This would include a minimum of 20 minutes cardio, followed by strength training.

2. I will be following the diet recommendations of Spark. I will stay within the suggested calorie range, with focus on healthier low calorie alternatives when available.

3. I will support my team by being an active member, which includes participating in group discussions, completing assigned tasks, and offering support and encouragement throughout the challenge.

My Program:
I don't have a particular program that I am following at this time. I am committed to maintenance, which means I am very aware of portion size and what I put into my body.

Efft 9/18/12:
5 Days of Cardio, 2 Days of which will exceed 50 minutes
2 Days of Weight Training

Personal Information:
I love Winnie the Pooh, the Disney Character Princess Tiana, the color Yellow, and Comedy.
