Weight loss for health!

I'm a female in my late thirties whose goal is to lose about 50 pounds. My reasons are primarily health-related. There is a history of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, and strokes in my family, and I want to do what I can to prevent health problems in the future.

I was an unhealthy vegetarian for a long time (a cheesetarian, if you will), and I'm now trying to be a healthy vegan.

My Goals:
1. Do cardio 6 days a week.

2. Do strength training 3 days a week.

3. Avoid processed foods, sugar, and dairy products.

4. Eat a large amount of fruits and vegetables.

5. Drastically reduce added oils in my cooking.

6. Reduce salt intake.

My Program:
I have implemented a healthy, low-fat, plant-based diet, similar to the Eat to Live program, but with a bit more whole grains.

I walk about 5 miles a day during the week (to and from train stations), but have been adding other forms of exercise into my routine as well (elliptical, kickboxing DVD, etc.). I am also currently doing the Couch to 5K program and am registered for a 5K on May 14, 2011!

Other Information:
Tracking calories drives me nuts, so I don't do it on a regular basis. However, I enter the foods I've eaten each day in my blog. This works better for me. I also track my fitness.
