HI I joined SP in January but I am just getting around to introducing myself. My daughter told me about SP when i complained about not being able to lose weight. I was only a few pounds away from being obese. My blood pressure was also high and the doctor was talking about putting me on medication for that. Since i didn't want to take any more medication i decided to lose weigh and see if that would help.

Since i didn't want to take any more medication i decided to lose weigh and see if that would help.

I have lost 14 pounds since January and my blood pressure is now in the normal range. I have also gotten off my cholesterol medications that i have taken for l5 years. One of my goals when i started on SP was to eat heather. The other goal was to lost l6 pounds. I am eating heather foods, but still have room for improvement.

My advice to all of you just joining SP is to explore the site, read the blogs and ask for help if you are struggling. I have found a lot of helpful ideas. One of the things i was doing wrong was not changing my exercise routine. I was running on the treadmill and burning 700 to 800 calories a day and still gaining. As soon as i changed the routine i starting losing weigh. Keeping track of what i eat daily is also helping me lose weigh and eat better.

I have short legs AND a short trunk! Go figure! LOL.

My weight was/is all in the abdomen . . . or was. That was part of my type 2 insulin resistant diabetes, though, I found out. That's right where this type of diabetes plasters the weight.

Gotta assume you must be in my height category judging by your goal weight . . . I am 4 ft 10-1/2 and there is absolutely nowhere to hide "junk i the trunk!"

Thanks, Mom :) I'm planning on using the elliptical and some exercise videos tomorrow while Em is in preschool...but I'll take ya up on it Thursday :) lol...Tuesdays I have no time since I am gone from 745am till 10pm, and Wednesday I can get some exercise in after I drop Em off at school...but I may come use your treadmill sometime this week (maybe tomorrow afternoon) emoticon
