Dooze's New Journey...

I joined SP in March 2009, primarily to monitor my nutrition and to track my exercise.

I originally struggled with my workouts. It seemed to take me forever to be able to walk 1 mile and jog 1 mile in my half hour workout before work. I kept at it, and on June 6th, 3 days after my 44th birthday, I ran in my first 5K race. My goal was to finish...and not come in last. I finished in the middle of the pack with a time of just over 30 minutes. Later, I "raced" my daughter around ...

I originally struggled with my workouts. It seemed to take me forever to be able to walk 1 mile and jog 1 mile in my half hour workout before work. I kept at it, and on June 6th, 3 days after my 44th birthday, I ran in my first 5K race. My goal was to finish...and not come in last. I finished in the middle of the pack with a time of just over 30 minutes. Later, I "raced" my daughter around the 1/4 mile track where the 5K race finished. Not long ago, I would not have been able to do that.

A few weeks ago, I hit my target weight and 25 pounds lost. Along the way, I learned that I moved from "obese" to simply "overweight". I've decided that it is not good enough. I need to move closer to the "healthy weight" classification if I am truly going to be successful in this journey. My new goal is to get to 170 lb...I believe I was in high school and active in sports when I last hit that weight.

under 200 lbs initially
and then get down to
185 lbs
