Donna's Vision Collage
This is me in 2000 -- I want to look like this again.
Shared Food & Fitness Trackers
I have made decisions all my adult life that are in the interest of others. It's past time I focused some energy on helping myself. I am tired of feeling fat and tired and achey.
I am only 45 years old and want to enjoy life again in ways my current size prevents. My fibromyalgia and depression struggles make weight loss more challenging, but the weight makes these issues worse as well. The downward spiralling madness has to end.
I have repeatedly tried to commit to a lifelong journey of healthy living, but until now have done so only in fits and starts, which has been very frustrating. This time, however, something wonderful just clicked into place for me and I just know that I am in this for the long haul. My focus isn't on the results anymore, but on committing to positive change, so I know the results will follow.
The first picture to the left is my face about seven years ago. The third is from 10 years ago... and I know I can look like that again.
The middle picture is of my Vision Collage. It might look like a confused hodge-podge to you, but each and every image has a very specific motivational message for me. It uplifts me to look over it all to remind myself of where I am headed.
I am in this for the long haul, transforming my lifestyle to be healthy overall.
Along with losing 50-70 pounds, I want to have healthy eating habits, be a habitual exerciser and generally be an active and more energetic person.
For weight loss my new healthy lifestyle plan includes eating smaller portions of healthier food, but I am an emotional eater, so this is tricky.
I get my cardio exercise through walking (with or without dogs) biking and hiking. I just embarked on the Couch to 5K running program, too. I wish I could figure out a way to add swimming to my life as well.
Accountability is key, so I am trying to recommit to tracking my intake and exercise here, as well as getting back to regular blogging habits.
I am also looking for work.
I am Donna, 45, married for the second time, have three kids (ages 22, 19, 16), three dogs, and one cat and live in Alameda, CA. Humor drives my life... Otherwise I'd probably go nuts!
I love movies and am an avid reader. My favorites are too numerous to list! I tend towards science fiction, fantasy and mysteries, but also love a good piece of dramatic fiction, biography and many of the classics.
I am trying to balance a job search with my responsibilities at home with my personal goals-- especially my weight loss. Stress surrounds me and it's NOT EASY.

Hmmmm, well then maybe stop trying to go down the path that makes you tired. Pick and choose what you allow to 'get you down' and tell yourself you simply refuse to let miserable conditions translate to "being miserable". The serenity prayer works well if you let it guide you. Oh, and track your food. ;) ..................... and whether you feel like it or not, smile! It is amazing how much it can improve one's mood, esp when people smile back at you.

Tag your it:A "Beautiful Woman Award" is going around I thought this would be appropriate for anyone...
"Beautiful Person Award!"
Once you've been given this award, you may paste it on the wall of 8 people who deserve it. If you receive more than 3, you know you're really a beautiful person! If you choose not to pass it on, nothing will happen, but it's always good to know someone thinks you're a beautiful person inside and out."
And you are truly a beautiful person, inside and out!
