A new chapter in my book of life
I am a recently retired special education teacher of 30 years. I have always had issues with my weight since my childhood. I have tried so many "diets" that I could almost become "certified" to teach them. Over the last few years, I have come to realize that a diet is not DIE with a T, but what I am eating. My diet has previously consisted of way to much in the amount of anything that I ate and way to many of the "bad foods". I am planning a new chapter now in which my diet will be more ...

I have tried so many "diets" that I could almost become "certified" to teach them. Over the last few years, I have come to realize that a diet is not DIE with a T, but what I am eating. My diet has previously consisted of way to much in the amount of anything that I ate and way to many of the "bad foods". I am planning a new chapter now in which my diet will be more consistent with an appropriate meal plan for me as a diabetic. I also plan to add exercise back into my life.

My Goals:
To loose weight to a more appropriate weight for my height. (5' 10") To become more physically fit. To drink 8 glasses of water daily. To more carefully regulate my blood sugar.
My Program:
Currently, I am "trying" to eat by a diabetic food plan, move more, and drink 8 glasses of water everyday. After my next appt. at the Diabetes Center I am sure I will have this tweaked some.
Personal Information:
I am a 52 year old recently retired teacher. I am divorced and the mother of one son that recently graduated with his Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. Currently my favorite hobby is photography. As one of my retirement gifts, I received a wonderful new digital camera. I can't wait to start a photography class to learn how to use all of the buttons and frills that it has! Alot more than just "point and shoot".
