A new chapter in my book of life

I am a recently retired special education teacher of 30 years. I have always had issues with my weight since my childhood. I have tried so many "diets" that I could almost become "certified" to teach them. Over the last few years, I have come to realize that a diet is not DIE with a T, but what I am eating. My diet has previously consisted of way to much in the amount of anything that I ate and way to many of the "bad foods". I am planning a new chapter now in which my diet will be more ...

My diet has previously consisted of way to much in the amount of anything that I ate and way to many of the "bad foods". I am planning a new chapter now in which my diet will be more consistent with an appropriate meal plan for me as a diabetic. I also plan to add exercise back into my life.

My Goals:
To loose weight to a more appropriate weight for my height. (5' 10") To become more physically fit. To drink 8 glasses of water daily. To more carefully regulate my blood sugar.

My Program:
Currently, I am "trying" to eat by a diabetic food plan, move more, and drink 8 glasses of water everyday. After my next appt. at the Diabetes Center I am sure I will have this tweaked some.

Personal Information:
I am a 52 year old recently retired teacher. I am divorced and the mother of one son that recently graduated with his Associate Degree in Criminal Justice.
Currently my favorite hobby is photography. As one of my retirement gifts, I received a wonderful new digital camera. I can't wait to start a photography class to learn how to use all of the buttons and frills that it has! Alot more than just "point and shoot".

I am saddened to hear about your challenges. But you are resilient. You have a true testimony,so continue to share it. I'm on Facebook, so let's be friends. I'll look you up or you look me up: Nadine Kohn.

Donna, I haven't heard from you in quite a while. I, too, have retired now and am enjoying it to the hilt. I pray that all is well with you. You were my first Spark Friend. Please let me hear from you.

Donna, I pray that everything is well with you. I have not hear anything from you which I consider to be unusual. You were one of my original friends after I joined. I know that you are glad that you don't have to face going to work (at school) as do the rest of us teachers. I'm going to grow up soon. lol.
I hope to hear from you soon.

Hey there Donna,
How was your July 4th? Did you get to do all that you had planned?
I hope that your time was enjoyable.
My holiday ws fantastic. It rained here most of the day, so I got to do some housework. My husband cooked the meal in the oven, so I was able to stick to my caloric intake.
Be blessed!
