This world is not my home, I'm just passing through.

I'm a Biblical Christian, I came to know Christ as my Savior about 40 years ago. I'm married, have two grown children, two grandchildren and one step-grandchild. I'm a retired RN and glad to be retired.
I weighed 333 lbs 20 years ago, I've taken off 146 lbs over the years, with a lot of periods where I didn't lose, or some where I'd gain 10 or 20, then get bback on track. Last fall I lost 35, then Christmas came again...my downfall. So I haven't lost any since then, but I think I'm ready ...

The Lord is good...I'm so very weak, but with His strength I can get more weight off. I'm sort of aiming at 175 (that's so I'll weigh less than my husband, I've always weighed more than him, he's never had a weight problem).

My Goals:
Control binge eating . I actually have ALMOST conquered that, only an occasional episode now.

Short term Goal weight :180
Eventual goal: 170

Goal for sodium intake: 1500mg/day









My Program:
I cook from scratch most of the time, eat whole grain bread and cereals and try to stay away from simple sugars.
Daily sodium limit about 1500 .
Today (Nov. 29, 2015) I'm back to using the nutrition tracker. I was just doing portion control most of this year, and put on 6-7 lbs. So it's back to counting everything. I'm trying to keep the carbs on the lower side of what they recommend.


Personal Information:
I've lived in Mass. since I got married, that was 48 years ago. I was born in Pa.

I was 333lbs at my top weight, went down to 220 over a period of years, using the Weight Watchers format, for the most part, and when I retired I started to workout at the Y and do water aerobics. After some medical issues I went back up to 240. I got back on track and am now 194. I thank the Lord for giving me yet another chance at healthy living! I want to lose 15 lbs by Feb. 28, I should be able to do that.
The Lord will give me the strength to do it if I keep praying and listening for His direction.

Other Information:
I'm a Christian, active in the local Baptist church, sang in the choir for many years. I resigned this year when I had a shoulder replacement and couldn't hold the book, and developed new back problems that interfer with my ability to stand long enough to get through the arrangements.

I'm a retired nurse.

I'm mother of two adult children, and have two grandchildren and one step grandchild.

My 95 year old mother moved in with us 7 years ago so my routine changed considerably and my time at the Y is now non-existant.
2 years ago my mom went in to a nursing home after a brief hospital stay, during which she lost strength and can no longer do much for herself, so I can no longer care for her. This has been very difficult for both of us, neither of us ever wanted this. She finally got aclimated to it and is now peaceful and realizes I couldn't care for her in her present condition. I'm grateful to the Lord for that, also.

Thank you so much for the goodie and the sweet word from the Lord. I appreciate them both. Continue strong in this journey, as I'm just beginning today.....I plan with God's help to be a different person inside, and out, by 2014. God bless you!

Didn't see until I went back that you had commented as well emoticon Thank you for sharing the recipe with me. I'm always trying to be more conscience of what amount of sodium I intake....I'm not always successful and should be more careful than I am. This will change though....one way or the other! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Thanks for your visit to my sparkpage, I'm glad you have fond memories of the UK, I've never been to the states, but I will some day. Best of luck on your journey. I find I have to catch my breath for a while, before carrying on again. I don't really have a sweet tooth, luckily, as a dental nurse that would have been a BAD thing to have. My passions are cheese and bacon. I don't really limit anything, but try to only have high calorie foods like these a couple of times a week, then make up for it on the other days.
