A new beginning......

Hope really does spring eternal. My DH went for his annual check up this week and his blood sugar is getting higher so he is now determined to eat better and get his weight under control. This will be a HUGE help to me. No more salty snacks in the house. They are definitely my downfall.

I will continue to walk everyday at least 5 days a week. I will do some kind of exercise every day. I will weigh/measure all food including condiments. I will be accountable to myself and weigh in in front of another person to keep myself accountable.

My goal is to lose 5% of my body weight for this challenge and maybe a little more for good measure!

My Goals:
I want to be a healthy weight and not feel anxious when I have to get on the scale in the doctor's office.

My goal is to lose 5% of total body weight by the end of the Winter challenge.

My Program:
Winter Challenge Exercise Plan:

Walk 60 minutes in the morning 5 days a week.

Walk - 30 minutes in the afternoon 7 days a week.

Ride stationary bike 30 minutes 5 days a week.

Personal Information:
Hi -

My name is Donna. My DH of 48 years and I live in central Florida most of the year. We have a little cabin in the mountains where we like to go and escape the summer heat.

I love to read, play computer games, garden and walk. I spend most Saturday mornings at the local yard sales and am forever searching for that special treasure.

My DH and I like to travel - especially cruises. We like unpacking once and sleeping in the same bed every night. And someone else takes care of everything else. But for 2014 we plan to see the USA. We've done quite a bit but have places we want to re-visit and take the grand with us this time.

We are blessed with two grown children (one son and one daughter) and a sweet teen-age granddaughter. We love spending time together and try to take the grand everywhere we go. She still likes to be with us so we consider each day a gift.

Other Information:
I love to read, do all kinds of puzzles, spending time with our teenage DGD but most of all we like to travel. We find cruises the easiest. Unpack once and someone else takes care of everything for us!

THANKS FOR READING MY BLOG. THEY DID THE SAME THING TO MY MIL. SHE IS 95 AND IS LIVING IN ASSISTED LIVING. SHE FELL IN THE BATHROOM AND LAID ON THAT COLD FLOOR FOR 8 1/2 HOURS PUSHING HER EMERGENCY BUTTON. MY HUSBAND FOUND HER THE NEXT MORNNG. HE TOOK HER TO THE HOSPITAL AND SHE CAUGHT PNEUMONIA LAYING ON THAT COLD FLOOR. THE HOME WOULDN'T TAKE HER BACK AND THERE WERE NO NURSING HOME BEDS AVAILABLE IN OUR CITY SO THEY PUT HER ON HOSPICE AND SENT HER BACK TO THE HOME. NOW SHE IS THRIVING. I GUESS THE EXTRA CARE SHE GETS FROM HOSPICE WAS EXACTLY WHAT SHE NEEDED. BUT IT HAS BEEN 6 MONTHS NOW. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH LONGER HER LONG TERM CARE INSURANCE WILL KEEP PAYING.
