Hi - I'm 47 and live in Wisonsin. About 10 years ago I lost 50 lbs. I've been working ever since to stay in shape and not gain the weight back. I've done a pretty good job but was looking for a way to gain strength & flexibility too. I was hoping to lose about 10 more lbs if I could but mostly just wanted to firm up. I like the articles on Spark People but I don't take the time to track my nutrition & exercise yet.

With the help of the Fit Moms for Life dvds and Sparkpeople I've been able to lose those 10 lbs, (and a little more - now I changed my goal to 15 lbs) 16 inches and get in the best shape of my life.

DONNA47FMFL Excited for 3 busy Saturdays coming up - 10 mile run this Saturday, 5k Mud run the next one and the 3rd Saturday a half marathon.

Good Morning!
Yes, it is easier for me since I am home all day to get in the 10,000 steps. I want to do more stairs, but that is a challenge for me. We do live on 2nd floor, and there is a basement, so I have access to 2 flights of steps right outside my front door, but getting out that door is the challenge with the 2 young ones at home!
Anyway, I'm loving the FitBit, it's really helping me stay accountable and helping me push myself a little further than I might normally.

I find it so hard now that I am in the 40's. Seems like I need to reduce my carbs to get the scale to move.

Oh but I did give up. I took months off and fell off the horse. Your right looking back having the last two years have the passing of two very important people in my life was a HUGE road block for me. I didn't work my way through it, I ate my way through it. I see that now and I also see how down I allowed myself to be. I think that is what makes me the most mad because that is just SO unlike me. I'm such a cheerleader for everyone around me and this year I'm determined to be that cheerleader for myself. I refuse to live another year as an over weight person!

Life can continue to give me lemons but this girl right here is going to toss them back and head to the gym!
