Start where you are...and keep the momentum going!

Time to quit waiting for the next phase of life before getting healthy. Seems like I have always been waiting for the perfect time to get fit and lead a healthier life. Well the time to start is now!!! On July 19, 2010 ,I finally quit smoking and no more excuses - it's time to be a healthier me for good!

So, if 2010 was the year I quit smoking, then 2011 will be the year I quit making excuses for not eating healthy and exercising regularly. I turn 55 this year and that is ...

I turn 55 this year and that is reason enough to maintain a healthy lifestyle! I want to continue to be able to live life to the fullest and enjoy my family and friends. That means building better habits and making adjustments for this changing body! Creaky joints are not an option!!!!!

My Goals:
1. Quit smoking 7-19-2010 - Yay! Still not smoking!
12/31/10 - still smoke free!

07/19/2012 - 2 yrs and still smoke free!!!

1/1/13 - Still smoke free!

2. Maintain current weight for 1st month of non-smoking. - Done!
12/11/10 - still maintaining...
12/31/10 - struggling here a bit. Have gained a pound or two!
7/19/2012 - 2 yrs of being a non smoker, but sadly 10 extra pounds though...

3. Eat a well-balance diet. A work in progress.
12/11/10 - getting better, but some days are not so great!
12/31/10 - not bad considering it's the holidays, but January needs to be much better.

4. Need to track food - good or bad, mainly to establish the habit.
12-11-10 - will try harder this week.
12/31/10 - still struggle with this, I have a mental block here.



My Program:
January 2011 goals:

Exercise at least 3 times a week.

Track food and nutrition to find out where improvements need to be made.

Plan healthy meals and snacks ahead to eliminate random food choices.

Joined the 28 day Bootcamp Workout Challenge
