Mary's Journey

My starting weight many years ago was 308. I have to remember how far I have come. I am in this for the long-haul. The problem most of us- especially women, is that we look at our imperfect bodies and find all the things we wish were better. I have come to the realization that we become our own worst enemy in the battle to lose weight. How many times have I let a few days of overendulgence cause me to totally lose my courage to go on? Not any more. I am determined to keep going, even ...

Not any more. I am determined to keep going, even when I have less than perfect days or weeks or months. This is a lifestyle, not a diet. This is a fitness program, not a contest. God is for me, so who can be against me?

My Goals:
1. To get back to a healthy routine of smaller portions and working out.

2. To reach smaller reasonable goals.

3. Make my spiritual life a priority. Being spiritually fit helps with my overall health.

4. Exercise 4-5 days a week.

My Program:
1. Not to skip meals.

2. Keep it simple...if I have a bad day...keep on keeping on.

3. At least 30 minutes of cardio 4-5 days a week.

Personal Information:
I have lived in Tanzania as a missionary since 1999.

I love Jesus and want to please Him in everything I do including my body.

My main job is that of an accountant. I am also the office manager and a really good Bible College teacher for New Life Outreach.

Other Information:
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.

That's the attitude you need, I have lots to lose to taking it in baby steps. 20 lbs at a time for goals, I know it works. I couldn't walk 3 years ago now I walk short distances I just use small short term goals that I can hopefully reach
