Fit & Natural Goddess

Hello all! I'm a 28-year-old writer from Chicago, IL who enjoys living life to the fullest. I've made a commitment to completely loving myself---and self-love includes being healthy body, mind, and spirit. My goal is to lose 30 pounds by March 31st---which just happens to be my 28th birthday---and 30 more by the end of July. I recognize that there will be challenges on this weight loss journey---but I am a weight loss warrior! And there is nothing that I can not handle. So Bring it!

12/28/2012- You know what keeps me motivated when I want to give up on this fitness journey? Watching documentaries on obesity. Not that I would ever let myself get to 500lbs---but it makes me thankful for being able to move my body everyday. Because someone that size is confined to their bed---not even able to get up and walk around without being in pain. This is the heaviest I've ever been---but I'm still able to get up 6 days a week and push my body through 60 to 70 min. workouts---without passing out or seeing the light. That's something to proud of. So no matter how I feel on some days---I know that things could be a lot worse. And that inspires me to get up and move my ass! Word!

03/03/2013: Spring is upon us---and I'm even more motivated! This is my month of glory---the month of my birth---the month where magic always happens for me---starting with 3 more pounds lost. I've gone back to being a vegetarian--and the weight is coming off a lot more than it was. I honestly believe that whatever they inject into to food---the hormones...the antibiotics....it keeps people fat. So I've becoming super conscious of what I put into my body. I do have my less than glorious days where I over indulge in some cookies or chips, but unlike the past---I don't let it sabotage my whole plan. I get right back in the game and eat cleaner the next day and work out harder. Because there are going to be plenty of obstacles on this journey. You just have to pick yourself up and keep on going.

I'm determined to have the body that I've always deserved. To be healthy and fit---and able to do all that I need to do in this lifetime. I can no longer blame anyone for how I feel about myself. If you don't like something about yourself---it's your responsibility---and yours alone---to change it. But these days---I'm feeling pretty awesome. Because my body is starting to reflect how I'm feeling on the inside. Change what's inside---and every area of your life will change.

Let's keep rocking!

My Goals:
I've lost 34 pounds thus far and reached my goal of being under 200 pounds for the first time since high school. I still have much work to do, but I feel like there are no limits on what I can do. I have a goal weight in mind--but I'm going to see where my body is comfortable. Most excellent. :)

My Program:
Yoga, Pilates,Cardio & Strength Training workouts--via dvd's and youtube---6 days a week. I've nixed the calorie counting---it's never worked for me. But intuitive eating---naturally tuning into when my body is truly hungry---has. I'm also a vegetarian.

"Just because you fail once, it doesn't mean you're going to fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always believe in yourself because if you don't, then who will? So keep your head held high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling. Because life's a beautiful thing---and there's so much to smile about. ~ Marilyn Monroe
