Hello, my name is Linda. I absolutely adore animals, especially dogs. I have the greatest (albiet slightly overweight herself) shelter dog in the entire world! :D
I went through a 5 year bout with depression and unfortunately gained about 100 pounds. This extra weight is making things more difficult in my daily life. I want to lose the weight I gained so that I can be more active with my "niece" and "nephew" of my two best friends. I have not had any children myself, but I love that little boy and girl with my whole heart and soul and want to be there to watch them grow up.

I admit I have a problem with the "adult beverages", and I have not had a cocktail since August 11, 2012. I am very proud of myself about this.

Currently I am looking for a job. I have been unemployed because of the depression since 2007. Wish my luck in my en devours. I am hoping that losing some weight will make my more employable. At 240 pounds it seemed that people closed the door before it was even opened. Now that I have been losing weight I have noticed that I have a lot more pep in my step and have been sleeping much better, which makes everything so much easier.

My Goals:
Well, I am a sweet, sensitive Purple Dolphin. My goals are to try and lose around 100 pounds. I would be happy with just getting under 200 at the moment. Currently I am 230 pounds. *sigh*

**Update** I am now 185. Working towards that

**Update #2** I am now under 170 pounds. I have lost more than 60 pounds. One day at a time!

My Program:
I will be starting tomorrow. I plan on packing the refridge with fresh fruits, vegetables, yogurt and other non-processed healthy snakes. I would also like to get to the gym at least 3 times a week. When it is not too hot, the dog I am sure would enjoy a walkie!

I really am enjoying going to Aqua Zumba, land Zumba, Dance with Me, and Aqua Aerobics classes. I have been going pretty much every day. It is is really great motivation.

I have added Les Mills classes and yoga to my program. I am enjoying strength training and getting toned.

The first time I did the "brushing teeth test" I about lost my mind. I have a BICEP!!!

Winter 5% Challenge Promise:

My clothes and yoga mat and Fitbit are always set and ready to go.

I am going to get some new running/cross training shoes the day of the challenge.

My food plan is follow the recommended calories set by Sparkpeople and Fitbit.

I will exercise every day for 120 min

Personal Information:
I live in sunny Southern California. I have a boyfriend, but unfortunately he lives in another state. I will be going to Portland, Ore to be with him as soon as I can. I am a liberal Catholic. I believe Jesus is my LORD and Saviour. I am open minded :). I spend a lot of time on FACEBOOK. LOL

Other Information:
My new favorite movie that I just saw the other day is "Breakfast at Tiffanys". I just adore Audrey Hepburn. She has such grace and style. I hope some day to exude the confidence and grace that she has in her movies. I totally relate to Holly Golightly. I find it very hard to trust people and give my heart away because it has been hurt so many times. Now, instead of worry about what others think of me, I am going to focus on myself. :)

My favorite book is "The Watchers" by Deane Koontz. Horror combined with a speaking dog. Yep, you got to love it!

I love spending time with my best friends and their little babies. I have never had children myself, so I love that I am an auntie.
