I started the 17 day diet on February 11, 2013. I was on maintenance from July 14, 2013 until February 1, 2014. I had gained a couple of pounds after the holidays and surgery, and decided to try to lose a few more pounds and try to get to the goal weight I had chosen when I started this. I got down to 165 and was stuck there for so long, that I figured my body was telling me that was it. I was also on prednisone at the time, and have since been completely weaned off that, so am hoping that this time around I can get to that elusive 160. I have Sjogren's Syndrome and RA and have been taking Methotrexate for 16 months and it seems to be working pretty well. I started the 17 day diet after hearing about a close friend's success with it. She also has RA, and noticed after the first cycle of the diet that she had relief from her inflammation and pain.

I love Sparkpeople, it has such great information and the Nutrition page rivals Weightwatchers, and the price (FREE) is really outstanding!

My Program:
Currently I am using the 17 Day Diet, supplementing with Advocare MNS3 and Thermoplus, daily walks and some weightlifting to tone up the flab.

Personal Information:
I am a 48 year old mother of two beautiful daughters. I have 4 fur-kids (as my youngest daughter calls them), and 8 fur-grandkids. I am an accountant for the local PBS station and am married to an accountant/accounting professor.

Other Information:
My husband and I love going to the movies. I love action adventure, sci-fi and romance movies best. I can't really name a "favorite" movie, there are just too many that I love.

I also love to watch TV. Big Bang Theory and Modern Family are my favorites right now. I also like Psych, NCIS, Justified, Mike & Molly, and Chuck. There are several others, but those are my faves at the moment!

I love to read, the Dragonriders of Pern books by Anne McCaffery are my all time favorite. I also love good mystery books. I am currently reading Cat & Mouse by James Patterson. I love his Alex Cross character. It is amazing to me how much they changed his character in those movies. Along Came a Spider isn't even the same plot! Except for the names... which I suppose they had to keep the same to protect the guilty. LOL

I just joined the 17DD team. Currently R1C1D8. Was so happy to read that the plan has helped your RA. I too have RA. This is yet another wonderful reason to keep on going. I must say, I love the fact that I haven't had any cravings or attacks of the "hungries" since starting the 17DD.
