Getting Healthy

I would describe myself as an outgoing , friendly person who is easy to get along with and enjoys meeting new people. I am a nurse who is married with no children , unless you count my two dogs:) , who has been dedicated to my education and career in the past and have put my health on the back burner. I decided it was time to practice what I preach and get healthy!

My Goals:
Lose weight and tone up for a healthier me.
Wish to start a family once extra pounds are shed!
STG- to shed at least 50 lbs for pregnancy.
LTG- to shed 100 lbs to be a healthy weight.

My Program:
I am currently in stage 1 of the SP plan. My fast break goals that I am incorporating are to drink 64 oz of H2O, 10 minutes of Cardio daily, and write a daily journal. I have added to my challenge to get at least 3 days strength training and 3 days aerobic activity.

Personal Information:
I am a nurse from Raleigh, NC, married to a wonderful supportive husband, and have two canine "kids", Smokey and Casey, sisters who are border collie/golden retriever mix. Planning on starting a family hopefully soon when I get to my short term goal weight.

Other Information:
A few of my interests are reading, especially James Patterson books, scrap booking, playing tennis, and racquetball. I love spending time with my family and friends and of course my "girls". :)

Hey JoAnna, Finally saw your comment on my page. I'll be seeing you at class tonight but thought I'd zap out a note to you since I'm awake at 4:30 a.m. and in pain! I've re-injured 2 old injuries now from working out too much, too soon. Probably going to have to take a couple weeks off from exercise, back to physical therapy, etc. This sucks!!!! I have been losing more lately because I ramped up my exercise to every day. Oh well, it's not like I play for the Canes or something. Just a little setback.

I'm with you. I don't really like the treadmill, etc. but I really like the personal training sessions and Robb's classes. They are so much fun. I think getting together with friends to walk is a lot better than getting on a treadmill. When I'm ready, I would love to meet you and Lisa for walks. There are so many great places to walk around here.

Anyway, I'm going to try to read and fall back asleep. This is so weird, the old me would have ingested about 500 calories by now. Late night snacking and middle of the night snacking were my forte. Maybe I am developing some new habits.
