Heal-thy-self

I am a doctor. I hope to become a mother at some point within the next two years. I am over 50 lbs overweight and yet I know all the recipes for a healthy lifestyle and all the consequences of an unhealthy one. I advise my patients daily about the importance of maintaining a healthy weight. It is about time I took some of my own advice and healed myself (and I like the idea that by doing so I will have a "healthy self")

My Goals:
Being leaner, stronger, healthier.

My Program:
Staying within my calorie goals and exercising daily (cardio 6-7 days/week and weight training 3 days/week)

Taking it one day at a time.

Remembering that what feels (tastes) good in the short term isn't necessarily what feels good in the long run.

Picturing my muscles tightened and toned.


Personal Information:
I live in southern California. I often work 80 hours a week, with 30-hour shifts about every 4th day. I have an outstanding husband and a wonderful cat. For the most part, I love life. I love travelling, meeting new people, exploring new cultures, and I LOVE eating. I am going to keep all the things I love an active part of my life as I journey through this new land to a healthy self.

Hi Tami, I was checking out the comments on the Halloween Challenge page and came across you. I like that we have the same name, just spelled differently. I am looking for some fitness challenges. I have a treadmill in my bedroom and various tapes and such. I will get into them for a while (like before my wedding) then get lazy and stop doing them. Any motivation advice? You're doing great, by the way, given all your stress factors! Tammy
