Life on my own now

Well, I'm back again....and this time as a widow. My husband passed away from esophageal cancer on Valentine's Day - the same day that I lost my mother to cancer two years ago. Life is totally different now and as such, I've gained back up to 180 again. I promised my husband that I wouldn't let myself go after he passed and danged if I didn't do it. So I'm back on track again...starting today. I'm back on the elliptical and walking and watching what I eat....and I'm determined to lose back ...

My Goals:
My goal is to take this excess 40 pounds off by the first of the year. I want to get myself in shape - more exercise and eat better as well. If I can accomplish those two goals on a regular basis, I'll lose the weight. I'm confident of that.

My Program:
I'll basically be holding my caloric intake as close to 1200 calories a day as possible, eating good, wholesome, organic foods whenever possible. I'll get exercise in when I can. This is a huge problem for me - I work 9 hours a day and have an hour and 45 minute commute on top of that, so there's not a whole lot of time for exercising. I do however get two 15 minute breaks a day, so I head for the fitness room and hit the elliptical three times a day (15 minutes at lunch too). Time permitting, I plan to either bike or walk in the afternoons when I get home.

Personal Information:
I live in Rancho Murieta, CA. I'm originally from Birmingham, AL but moved out here when my husband and I married. I have an 12 year old beagle named Blazey, I love to knit and read in my spare time. I'm very active in my church where I sing on the Worship Team and in a quartet.

Other Information:
I love plants and have been known to have a green thumb at times. I've recently gotten back into knitting and love making things for my family. My step-daughters are introducing me to scrapbooking, which I see now is going to be addictive, to say the least!!!

Let's get you bellydancing SOON! You're going to love it. And if it's FUN for you, it won't even seem like exercise. Well, that's what I tell my students, LOL! Thanks for the posts on my blog. It's very encouraging to know that you're out there! :)
