Hello Sparkies! My name is Dannette & I'm a 21 year old nursing student living in Virginia! I love LOVE love to run. This past year I ran my first "10 miler" in March & the "NY Diva's Half Marathon" in October. Since then, I've been slacking a lot in my running..and working out all together. I'm getting back in the swing of it and trying to eat healthier this year along with keeping up with my running & really focusing on toning (which is new for me!). I love blogging and hearing what works for people and what doesn't so don't be afraid to share! My GOAL is to lose 23 lbs..So, here goes nothing!

I'm keeping up with the Nutrition & Fitness Tracker and I'm trying to overall eat healthier and really focus on drinking more water.

My name is Dannette! Born & raised in Stony Point, Virginia :) I grew up on a farm & love my animals. My 3lb Yorkie Max is my baby! I'm currently studying to become an RN! I enjoy horseback riding, running, fishing, camping, hunting, biking, and reading. & I LOVE my family & friends :)

    Like I'm going to lose my mind! Lol, I've done TONS & TONS of practice questions but Idk, I do horrible on testing like that. I freeze and then feel doomed haha! emoticon

    First week was intense!! I can't believe they had you doing your math test your first day back- ours is like the 2ed week of Feb. We have to get 90% too! I guess it's "advanced" med/'s a lot more hands on, and we already kind of know what we're doing. I think my hardest thing during school is making excuses for why I can't exercise, and over eatting on sweets when I'm stressed and tired! I'm going to make sure that doesn't happen this semester though- and this first week went pretty good! Today is homework Friday- next week I start Maternity- which I'm way excited for (but I bet I won't be saying that after I got to clinical- haha).
    The only tips I have are: Have premade sweet snacks that are low in cal., have low cal snacks made you can munch on and are filling for studing, and GO TO SLEEP if your tired- trying to stay awake is not worth eatting 500 more calories, finish it tomorrow! Hope that helps emoticon

    Totally nervous to start again! AND the first day back (in the morning) is right into med/surg clinical! I wish they had planned that better- I feel like we'll be jumping in with no floaters! We did med/surg clinical last semester but it was at a different hospital. Whats been the hardest part for you about going to school and trying to lose weight?
