Dawn's Spark Spot

Hi! I'm new to Spark People and already love it! I'm 40+ (grumble, groan, smirk, grrfff!!) and have found myself 40+ pounds over a decent, happy, healthy weight and I want to get back down to where I ought to be.

My Goals:
I want to lose forty pounds, firm up my flabby bottom, and get back into my size ten jeans!

My Program:
I'm tracking my meals and calorie intake, I work out 1/2 an hour Monday through Friday (take the weekends off to prevent burnout and rest up the muscles) and keeping a positive attitude-I can do this!!

Personal Information:
I'm originally a Pgh girl but am now calling beautiful whaling city, New Bedford MA home! I'm happily married to my dh, Bill and we have a beautiful son, Michael, who will soon be a teenager! We're also animal crazy and have two very spoilt dogs, Tucker and Sweet Pea, and seven birds (two just hatched last week!)

Other Information:
I love to read, hike in the woods, splash in the creek, and gaze in wonder at God's gorgeous, incredible creation.

Quiche -basic recipe: 8 oz bacon, sausage, or ham, cooked and chopped; 3 cups chopped veggies of your choice (I used asparagus, mushrooms and onions); 8 oz shredded cheese (I used mozzarella and cheddar, Swiss is a standard); 4 beaten eggs; 1 cup 2% milk.

Spray quiche or pie pan with Pam. Sauté veggies about 5 minutes in 1 tbsp butter. Season as desired. Spread in pan, sprinkle cheese on top, mix eggs and milk together and pour over top.

Bake in 400 degree oven about 25 mins (until knife inserted in center comes out clean). Enjoy hot or cold.

Let me know how yours turns out!
