DLBCONDUCTOR

I retired in 2008 after 41 years as a university choral conductor. In 2007, I learned I had severe Psoriatic Arthritis and was experiencing pain levels of 9 out of 10.
I decided to try and create a better life for myself in spite of the Arthritis and joined SparkPeople as a first step. Losing weight is a major step in improving the quality of my life.
Previous Weights: (08-01-2007: 255 lbs.) (09-01-2010: 235 lbs.) (09-15-2020: 228).

UPDATE: I am starting over. ...

UPDATE: I am starting over. Due to physical setbacks, I dropped off the program and find myself starting over. Using the help of the Sparkpeople Programs I have set a new goal of losing 60 pounds between now and November 1.

I came across the following quote while "googling around" the internet today and think it's message is so important that I want to share it with my friends!
Sheila

"All of life is a journey; which paths we take, what we look back on, and what we look forward to is up to us. We determine our destination, what kind of road we will take to get there, and how happy we are when we get there." From A Little Book of Happiness

I've learned that being realistic about our goals is an integral and powerful part of this journey. We are all doing the best we can in moving towards our goals every day and need to remember to celebrate the successes, no matter how small they may seem. We need to have each and every one of those successful moments to reach our ultimate goals! Success is so important as a motivator and provides fresh encouragement every time we can say "I did it!" Donít hesitate to share those successes with the rest of us.
Iíll start - I have stayed on track and faithful to my goals, both in nutrition and exercise, for 6 of the past 7 days! I chose to focus on the 6 good days rather than the one that was not quite as good!
Stay positive!
Sheila
