That Duck on my shoulder? Why that's my Muse, of course!
Our Wedding: August 2009
Our Cabin: My very own decompression chamber and writer's retreat!
Shared Food & Fitness Trackers
I am continually reminded that if I don't have enough concern for my own health and happiness; I can't possibly be motivated to enjoy sharing a long life with my husband and son. In 2013/2014, I am refocusing, re-energizing, and reasserting my attention and responsibility to me; so I can be here for them for many years to come!
I'm a geek at heart who knows that having a plan and a fun way to track progress is what keeps me motivated. I've found that when I stay responsible to myself and work the program, I experience tremendous success. Consistency is key.
I am a writer of poetry, memoir, and fiction; and associate publisher of Grey Wolfe Publishing, an independent publishing house in Michigan. In addition to our publishing services, we support readers and writers of all geographies and ages with book clubs, book signings, writing contests, writing prompts, workshops and retreats and much more.
I am captivated by the written word and feel absolutely privileged every day of my life to be doing this work with astoundingly gifted and talented authors!
I know that if I get my health back on track, and keep it that way, I will have more years to spend surrounded by family, friends and incredible writers! Given that, why wouldn't I want to do this? It's really a no-brainer!!
To lose about 35 pounds so that I can solidify my health in future years; to look better to my husband; and to be more presentable at book signing parties!
To continue writing with the same enthusiasm I have today; and to publish my next three books in 2014!
I love having a plan and lists to check things off! Spark People is a fantastic way for me to do both, while appealing to my creative-geek Muse that seems to motivate my lifestyle!!
My 2013/2014 Re-dedication:
Track my nutrition daily, being aware of positive eating habits; including drinking more water!
Track daily exercise; including walking the dogs, walking the treadmill, and ab workouts!
Write a consistent 1,667 words per day, even after NaNoWriMo is over!
Harness the energy of positive thoughts, words and deeds; while encouraging others to do the same!
I'm Diana Kathryn Plopa: a writer and publisher who is enjoying her fourth year of wedded bliss; is captivated by the wonderment of watching her amazing 23-yr old son walk through the journey of manhood; and who is surprised daily by how much love has revitalized her life!
My favorite quotes:
"A Ship In A Harbor Is Safe, But That's Not What Ships Were Built For!"
"I write because it fulfills me. I do it for the pure joy of the thing and if you can do it for joy, you can do it forever!"

Thanks for stopping by my status update. As usual, I'm reading a mystery. It's a nice break after finishing editing a travelogue of Canada yesterday. -- Lou
