SO KEEP SMILING!

I believe you have to be healthy and do your best to live a long healthy life and that's why I turned to SparkPeople to support me in doing that :)

I am a certified personal trainer, group fitness and Pilates instructor. I'll be working on my Lit. degree for the next 3 years... and then I will take it from there.

To me, life is about being healthy and happy. I breathe, eat and sleep sports and literature (I know- it's an interesting combo). I love being an athlete and everything that comes with it... yes... I love the pain also. I must say though, I have been dividing my time between the library and the gym these days so I'm not like I used to be which has its own ups and downs.

Here is D's Goal Plan upon beginning the school year and life changing around:

- Anything unhealthy is really not an option.

- Waking up to a cup of coffee and a bit later- between 7-9 am- 2-300 calorie breakfast.

- Snack around 10 am no more than 50-100 cals.

- Lunch with protein and carbs but mostly veggies- between 1-2pm- 3-400 cal.

- Snack between 3-4 pm no more than 50-100 cals.

- Dinner between 5-7 pm mostly carbs.

One last thing- THINK SKINNY! Once the mind set is changed everything follows.

I hope that helps in a way... please feel free to ask for advice or just chat and chill with me on my page... I love SP and I'll probably come by your page as well :)

May your troubles be less, May your blessings be more, May
nothing but
happiness come through your door.

Thanks for the support,

D
----------------------------------

As a result of not being at my best I have set new goals.
They are to be met fully by July '09.

My Rules:

My rules from now on:
1. No eating after 10 PM
2. Brushing my teeth at 10 PM
3. No "hanging out" in the kitchen
4. Closing and putting away the bag/box of whatever I'm about to eat before I start eating it
5. Getting rid of my all or nothing mentality, "oh well, i already went over my calorie limit, why not binge"
6. Thinking about how much money binging wastes.
7. Thinking about the fact that one 2000 calorie binge cancels out 3 hours at the gym.

Update:

It is July 30, 2009 and I have set a FOUR WEEK GOAL! I have to be in super shape in four weks for a few reasons: (in order of importance)

1. Meditation is my new aim and I hope to get back into yoga.

2. Throughout the year I find that I spend a HUGE chunk of my time at the library, which I love, but also has to do with the weight I have to lose now... lol... so I can be ready and prepared for next year!

3. Meditation Fast once a week (Tuesday or Saturday).

Next update ( November 11, 09) will say: "GOAL"

Till then... please feel free to update me with your life- I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW!

Yours,

D

Small steps for getting back in the loop after the Jewish Holidays:

1. Spend a little more time sparking for motivation and inspiration over the next week (week of Sukkot).

2. Begin getting back to lower calorie intake, trying not to go way over goal limit over that next week.

I'm great!

I can only imagine all the mixed up crazy normal families in the land of milk and honey.

Had a great conversation with Benjamin and how he was amazed how Jews in the USA blend in just as Christians and Muslims do in Israel. He will have such eye opening experiences here. Have you ever been here?

I absolutely loved my visits to Israel. First was actually right before Iraq I. We actually stayed at the King David and all the media was there. I have a picture with Ted Koppel who did Nightline from there. Maybe you are too young to remember. But we actually left 2 days before the scuds hit. We watched our friends who were still there on TV. But it showed me the reality of Israel and what our media displays as their perceived reality.

2nd visit was to see my cousin and also on a JUF trip. It was during all of the bus bombing, suicide bombs in the Hotel by the sea in 2000. I vowed I wouldn't go on a bus. But I did with Benjamin and Oryan (now an officer) and got my picture with two young beautiful Israeli Army girls with their guns (who remind me of you D!) What I took from that trip is that Tel Aviv is like Chicago. If a bomb goes off in ChiTown, the entire city is not going to shut down. And so Tel Aviv, of course, was up and running!

The next visit...who knows when...we'll have to meet! No excuses D! I'd love you to meet Adam who is her oldest son, but he's involved right now...LOL. He runs the Israeli Scout Program.

So be well my darling D! And be balanced!!!!! But remember failure is always a part of success. Don't let that bump in the road ever knock you completely off your path toward reaching your goals! OK?
