Changing the future with every step

Sometimes I can't believe how I have gotten to this stage. I think in all of our lives there comes a point and you look at yourself - and think, when i was little and dreamed of the person I would become - was this it?

Did I want to become a person who was defeated by failure? Did I want to become a person who avoided situations that seemed to hard to deal with? Did I want to be the person with the least motivation?

Sometimes I can't believe how I have gotten to this stage. I think in all of our lives there comes a point and you look at yourself - and think, when i was little and dreamed of the person I would become - was this it?

Did I want to become a person who was defeated by failure? Did I want to become a person who avoided situations that seemed to hard to deal with? Did I want to be the person with the least motivation?

Or rather did I want to be strong, courageous, take every opportunity, live every moment, be interesting, do exciting things, look good and feel good? I'm pretty sure that's the person I wanted to become. And it's never ever too late too start. I still have the rest of my life in front of me and there is no way I am going to waste it.

My Goals:
I''d love to be able to walk into a store and buy what i love.. not what just fits. (Actually right now i''d love to merely walk into a store where something fits).

I''d love to be able to do dance classes, do yoga, go for a run at the park without looking stupid or withot losing my breath.

My Program:
Exercise - either cardio or strength train- every single day and make sure that each week i make the exercise slightly more intense.

Make better choices when eating - even if that means small decisions - it all adds up!

Hi Diya, I saw your question about disassociating eating with social events. I have the same exact issue as well. I have found that if I eat before going to the event or out for the night I don't have the urge to then eat while socializing (and thus overeating because I am not paying attention). At first I thought it would be no fun to eat before leaving the house but have found that it's simply not true for myself. In fact, I have a more enjoyable time when out because I am more focused on my friends and the conversations than the food. And then I feel so good about the wise choice(s) that I made.
I try to make my meals that I eat at home just as good or better than what I would be eating while out. And they happen to be better for me anyways. If I feel that I still need to have something to eat, I'll then order a salad or veggies to nosh on. I hope this helps.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. You are so right - it all depends on how you look at it. It's always better when the glass is half full, right?! :)
Best wishes for a health-ful day!
