Hi, I'm DixieD.
I am a wife, a mother, a research coordinator, a cook, a housekeeper, a chauffeur, an organizer, and am owned by three cats and a dog.
I'm trying to get healthy at long last. In addition to all my duties, I'm trying to put myself at the top of every day's to do list, and do what needs to be done to get as healthy as possible. I would like to quit needing blood pressure meds, and to avoid going on cholesterol meds.
My husband and I have been married for 28 years, and we just survived a rough patch. Now it's better than ever.
My kids are nearly grown, and are 23 and 18.
I have lost ten pounds in the past year, and working on it five pounds at a time.
My long term goal is to have lost 37 pounds by May 18, 2012. That's my daughter's graduation day.
I have joined my local YMCA and am taking an awesome class called Corepower two to three times a week. Since joining the Y, I've lost an inch off my waist and chest and tummy. Yay!
I'm loving life, and ready to love me.

My Goals:
To lose weight the healthy way and stay healthy.
To take babysteps along the way.
To track my food and exercise daily.

My Program:
January 2012 goal: By the January 30, 2012, I will regularly be eating five servings of fruits and vegetables a day.
For the week of Jan. 1-7, the goal is 2 servings a day. Every day. Servings will go up each week and I'll track the fruits and veggies here on SparkPeople.
