Sparked up for health.

Here I am in my mid 50's with a healthy 30 more pounds to lose. I enjoy being active and consider myself extremely healthy.....in fact I could be a bit overboard with my mentality of what keeps me healthy. I adore my Grandkids and great Neices and Nephews, as well as all their friends, and their friends, and on, and on...You get the picture! I have my own campground on the farm with a lake and fishing, boats, kayaks, swimming, as well as horseback riding. I try to have kids camping ...

You would think all that activity would keep me trim, but my bad habit is sitting in front of the computer for hours on end through out the winter..... and we have loonnnnggg winters here in ALberta.......

Personal Information:
I live on a cattle farm in central Aberta. I have11 adorable Grandchildren and my favorite holiday is on a cruiseship anywhere warm. I love wines from all over the world and spend lots of time outside. I have a huge vegetable garden and an even huger rock garden. And now I am putting a Zone 2 Orchard into the plan....fingers crossed.

Other Information:
Our farm is called Chokecherry Hill Tennessee Walkers. I used to breed, show and train walkers, but have retired from the working part of horses and now enjoy just riding them.

Good point about the age vs guidelines. I'm sure the calorie ranges give by SP do not take age into consideration.

Things are going great. I have been doing challenges and working on my cabin this summer..(as the last 4 lol) I have blogged a bunch of cabin build video blogs..They are short so its better if you go back a ways n see it come together but only if you get time. I have not lost a bunch lately but have toned up a bunch and feel much better. Glad to see you back and I know your jacked and ready to take a pound or 2 off. emoticon

Hi! Wow! how time flies when we're having fun!

I've been really busy and enjoying the festivities of the Easter season (which is my favorite holiday by the way) and now I'm about to get ready for some over night company that will be here in the early afternoon tomorrow then we will be getting ready to go to the coast for some fun and relaxation. When the sun comes out...I go out! It's great!

How about you? Have you been busy or are you getting ready for BBQ season/summer which will be upon us very soon now!

I read that persimmons have high levels of fiber, potassium, magnesium, calcium and antioxidants which are all super weapons against atherosclerosis! Who knew?

Have a great week and a great Mother's Day on the 8th!

You know me; I've been reading again... emoticon
I just read that a spoonful of cooked black rice packs the same amount of anthocyanins as a spoonful of fresh blueberries, but with less sugar and more fiber and vitamin E. I'm not sure that rice is a fruit substitute in that case though; I'll have to give that some food for thought!
emoticon I'm waiting impatiently for the spring sunshine to come; emoticon I know it's out there somewhere, it just hasn't broke through our continual thick cloud cover yet.
