I am on this journey for being healthy. I enjoy reading others blogs to keep me encouraged for this journey. While I am on this journey, I pray that I continue being healthy and staying fit.
My overall personal goals are to not only loose this excess weight of 140lbs, but to be healthy and strong. I don't want any health issues pertaining due to being overweight, therefore, I am being proactive by first loosing the weight, attending my doctors visits and pray that I remain healthy and strong.
I have had the lap band surgery Feb 27, 09 and at this time, I am on puree foods. After that, I will be on soft foods. For my program, I am to make sure that I have 65 Grams of protein per day. This I think, is to help me heal and loose my weight too.
I am from Detroit Michigan. I am married to a wonderful supportive husband, who has been here for me from the beginning. In addition to this, we have four children, ages 19, 13, 10 and 17months.

Hey Diva! Thank you so much for the blog comment.
I'm not really on a program. I started running by doing the Couch to 5K program, which you can find online for free (and the Couch to 5K groups on Spark are awesome!). I did about 4 weeks of it and then modified it.
Right now, I am concentrating on run/walk ratios. In the beginning, I'd select a certain time that I want to run. Starting off, I'd say like 20 minutes. I then did intervals till I hit that time. For my first couple runs, I'd want a 80/20 walk/run. So I'd walk for 4 minutes and then run for 1 minute. I'd then adjust it as I got better. As you can run more and more, you can aim for distance.
Some more ideas are to get good running shoes. If you can afford it, get fitted at a running shoe (ask them to look at your gait). Also, concentrate on what you eat and how much you drink before. I always write down what I eat and compare it to how I feel. I know that a big, startchy meal will make me feel heavy while running. Eating lighter proteins and sides like rice instead of potatoes helps me. I also try to drink 3 cups of water, at least, an hour before running and 3 cups every half hour during a run. And finally, always start with stretching and a 3-5 minute warm up walk! Running without prep is the worst thing you can do, and it's how I injured myself 2 years ago!
Please keep me up to date on your plans! I'd love to know how you're doing!

It honestly took about 120 days before I hit the size 8 mark. I lost 20 pounds before anyone noticed. When I hit 25 it was like I lost two dress sizes. I guess it just depends on where you hold your weight.
