Starting Again (March, 2014)

...To being the healthiest person possible.

I am a kidney-transplant recipient, and most of my life, I really haven't been able to keep up with everyone, or have the stamina. I still have to watch it, and have my rest days, but it's a lot better.

I've been working on eating healthfully, and it really is great! I've also worked on being more active.

My Goals:
Short Term Goal:
190 lbs. by end of May, 2014.

Medium Goal: Being Overweight! (I am Obese currently). 29 BMI by Christmas, 2014.

Long-Term Goal: 23-24 BMI by July 1, 2015.

Overall goal is to be fit, be a healthy weight, be at a healthy BMI.

I want to be able to participate in any healthy activity I endeavor to. To hike in beautiful country for hours and hours.

My Program:
Clean and healthful eating. Think before eating. Eat consciously.

Hike a trail in a beautiful natural place 2x per week; work out on Wii 3x per week; Yoga 2x per week; strength train 3x per week.

Personal Information:
I am living in and am from the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area, in the South Bay. I love to hike, travel, read, and love movies and tv. I try to learn something new every day. I have a Wii, and work out with my Wii everyday. Love history and science. I also quilt.

Other Information:
As a kidney-transplant patient who has been ill off-and-on for most my life, I find the best way to go is to be patient with myself. I keep my goals in mind. Since I've committed to a healthy life for good, I don't have to be in a hurry. Even if the weight comes off slowly, I know by exercising every day and eating healthy, I'll get there.

I wanted to stop by and say emoticon to the team. I believe you will find this a great way to be healthier and reach the goal of completing a 5K. Be sure to introduce yourself to the team and ask any questions you might have along the way.

Thanks for introducing yourself to me. I've been quilting for almost 20 years now and using the Wii for close to a year. I'm going to be a Grandmother for the first time, so now my quilting will soon be for my own grandchild and not just for everyone else's grandchildren.

Good luck to you on your weight loss goals and your health. I just took a break due to a bad gall bladder and it misbehaving this summer. It's gone now and I can start exercising again. Got to get in shape for that grandchild!

Just wanted to give you a warm WELCOME to the Slowest Losers team. You are making a great first step forward, keep up the momentum. Remember start slow with small changes, learn to track, and make water and some form of exercise a priority in your healthy lifestyle. Consistency, determination, and a belief in yourself will help you reach your goals.
-Suzy
