On my way to goal!

I am worth it!!

I will take one day at a time and there are no failures just barriers to overcome!

I am normally on the type of person to dump my issues and problems out on the internet. I am normally the person who is in the wings watching, reading and listening to all the people who do participate.

I am worth it!!

I will take one day at a time and there are no failures just barriers to overcome!

I am normally on the type of person to dump my issues and problems out on the internet. I am normally the person who is in the wings watching, reading and listening to all the people who do participate.

Lately I have made a decision. I am going to start making a point to record and track everything that I am doing and feeling during my journey.

I have also come to a pretty big decision for me. I AM GOING TO PUT MYSELF FIRST FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE!!! I have always been there for everyone but me. Everyone in my life has always been put in first place. I normally put myself in last place. Iím done!! I am doing this for me and my health. I can be a better mother, wife, sister, employee and whatever else I do when I am healthy and confident. I have been with my husband since before I graduated from high sc
hool. I had my son three months after I graduated from HS. They have always come first. They will still be at the top of my list but my health and exercise will come first!

I started my weight loss journey at 281. I did not know I was that big but at one of my dr appts this last year he said in my charts the highest weight was 281. That is where I started!! In September or October of 2008, I started exercising and trying to watch what I ate. January 2009 I got serious. I had always tried to diet or watch what I ate by myself. Which would mean two separate meals : one for me one for everyone else. 1/09 I said no more. I told my husband and son that this was what I was going to have in the house and make for meals, basically eat it or make your own. No more box food, no more processed junk, no more white pasta, no more POP/SODA, lots of veggies, whole grains, and lean protein!! They actually accepted thisÖ.. hehehehehe

In 2009 my son lost 60 lbs and my husband lost about 25 lbs. I lost about 40ish.

I am trying not to focus on the scale but on how I feel and now my clothes are fitting.

About 5 weeks ago, I started a VERY early morning (4:45am) weight training class and really feel good about myself. I never would do something in the mornings because I had this to do or that to do. Normally this and that was something for someone else, wake my son or husband up, make breakfast lunch etc. They will need to do it on their own now. After completing the 5th week yesterday of the classes, I feel REALLY GOOD!! I have dropped one pants size and lost about 4-5 lbs. That is an estimate on lbs because prior to starting I was not 100% sure of where I was at.

I am on a journey to a healthier me!! I have told myself to get in , shut up, and get ready for a wild ride!!!


update 3/6/201`2 - here i go again.... I have recently started seeing a nutritionist/coach to get myself on the right page. My goal is to make sure I see her once a week and follow all of her program....

I live on the beautiful Oregon coast!!

I love the outdoors!!

Married to my best friend for 15 years but together over 22 years.

I have a 20+ year old son and two cats.

I work full time as a counselor/coordinator for a federal program and also go to school part time for my Bachelors which I might get the day I retire :).



Other Information:
I love to read. I am somewhat of an overachiever. I tend to be a little scattered (welcome to ADHD).

Thanks for the kind words on my blog post. My first tri is the Pine Hollow Triathlon. It's a hour or two south of The Dalles. Not exactly your neck of the woods, but still relatively close.

I'm always impressed when I see people larger than me running with grace. My heart rate soars when I run. Clearly desire and fitness have more to do with it than just body weight. I'm always hopeful that some day I will be one of those graceful runners, regardless of my BMI.
