I'm an engineering college student just trying to get by. I've been overweight my whole life, and when I turned 18 I snapped. I didn't have "kid excuses" anymore. I managed to avoid "the freshman 15" my first semester thanks to starting SparkPeople and the healthy, vegetarian choices at the school cafeteria. I switched schools over the semester and am now at home- and am 20+ pounds lighter!

Really would love to have a great beach body for a Galveston trip this summer. I want my boyfriend and I to be healthy, confident and sexy- so much so that we actually feel like swimming this year. :)

I'm slightly undercutting the calories that my nutrition plan provides to meet my goal by my date!

I'm doing good. Swinging kettlebells 3-4 times a week and roller derby practice 3 nights a week. All of it is progressing nicely. So busy I have a hard time eating enough each day - never thought I'd have that problem! I don't need to lose any weight, I weigh more than my goal but am about the size I was when I weighed 115, just have a lot more muscle on me now.

How are things going for you?

I appreicate your checking up on me. Sometime when my life is not so crazy, I'll be back more often.

Thank you! You're beautiful yourself ma'am! :D I haven't been on SparkPeople in a while, I feel kind of bad about it... I had a plan to start my own "get healthy" program on August 22, but that was when my grandmother had passed away and everything wasn't going so well at that point because of that. Then, shortly afterward, I found out I need to get all four wisdom teeth pulled! So I haven't started any nutrition program or anything because I don't want my efforts foiled by ice cream and mashed potatoes :P

I started the C25K three times before finishing. It's fine to repeat weeks. Just have fun with it. I'm going to have to do it all over again once I'm up and running again. ;-)

Thanks so much for your sweet comment on my "Celebratging 5 Months of Maintenance" blog. It means a lot to me that I invoked such emotion in you. I think only other overweight people know what we go through when we let ourselves go like I did. There are things that I endured that I didn't even realize, until I didn't have to tolerate them anymore because of my weight loss. Living life without those extra pounds is wonderful. I hope I never lose this feeling of "newness" about my life, because I want to enjoy just being normal for a very long time! At least long enough to dance at that granddaughter's wedding with her very sexy groom! LOL--LOVE THAT image in my head. This little old lady gliding around the floor with a very handsome young man. Thanks for making my day!
