I do run/ walk intervals for all races (check out the Galloway team if you haven't). I find it more comfortable and my times are better than if I run the whole thing. (Although I do run full occasionally, for example at crowded races where stopping and starting is difficult). I started it to help with a sore knee, which it did, but kept it up because I just like it so well.
