Hi! Iï¿½m Becky, the Registered Dietitian with Sparkpeople. I live on my ï¿½family farmï¿½ in southern Indiana with my husband, daughter, and son. It is a small rural community. The closest fast food restaurant is 20 miles away and the nearest shopping mall requires a 50 minute drive. Yes, it is slightly slower-paced, but a pace that I cherish.
I enjoy working in my vegetable garden, preparing new recipes, sewing, and walking in my woods with my canine companions, Roxie and Cassius. My children will tell you that I am fixated on eating meals together as a family at the kitchen table. This is often the only chance to connect and catch-up. It is a time to comfort the pains of the day and celebrate the joys of living.
I also admit that I am a techno-nerd. I do not Twitter. I cannot Facebook. Heck, I donï¿½t even own a cell phone. However, I do enjoy connecting with others at Sparkpeople as we journey together to improve our health. So join me, as we:

Hello! It feels like going out on a limb, a little bit, adding you as a Spark friend--so thanks for acknowledging me so quickly with a little happy face! I have read many of your articles on SP and have found them helpful. I was browsing through different pages/comments here on SP, and I thought--why not add her? So, here we are. Hello!
I know for me, that knowing what I'm eating is important--yet I resist tracking food. I believe I eat foods that are good for me--only too much of it. Of course, I have foods that I seem to over-indulge in--namely ice cream. Eating seems to be just one component of my healthy life-style journey. Exercise is, once again, becoming a regular part of my life. Seems that a healthy life-style has many components--and for me, one of those components is taking care of myself physically and emotionally. I do tend to be an emotional eater & that is a problem.
anyway. maybe tmi as I introduce myself to you...guess that's me, though! :)

I love your goals. I admire living more simply. Those electronics suck up allot of time that's for sure. I look forward to learning more about proper nutrition, myths etc. .

I have a question for you because I'm a little bit confused about protein and fiber here on SP mention a lot about fiber and my nutrition said for me to get protein the reason is I had 2 years ago gastric sleeve, I lost about 70lbs and know for the past year didn't lose any more I do walk and two to 4 times Zumba a week that's why she told me to had more proteins so please can you help me understand better the differences.

I have just read the thread "Dieting: Have we really just over-complicated it?" Thank you so much for your intelligent and realistic input on the subject. It hit home with me and I am sure it did with many other people as well.
