Sparkpeople changed my life. I had been bedridden for 12 years due to illness, in turn which lead to an increase of weight by 60 lbs. I needed to get back on my feet and healthy..... googled weight loss program and here my journey began.

I lost 50 lbs. in the first 3 years looking good and feeling great ..... then I accidentally injured my knee, not able to exercise as much awaiting for knee surgery which took 2 years. Gained back 20 ...

My Program:

1. Weigh, track and log everything I eat and drink. Enter all Nutritional Info. for every grocery purchased. It makes it so much easier for tracking.

Eliminate processed foods.

Ensure that all necessary Nutrients are met (i.e. fibre, calcium, sodium, etc.)

Drink 8-10 cups of water daily

Daily Calorie Differential of 500

2. Exercise 7 days/wk. unless I'm ill (i.e. Aerobics, dancing, weights, kettle bell, and stepping etc.) I get bored easily so I need to change it up in 10 minute intervals.

My first username was "ABUSEDIT" I felt I had done just that abused my body for many years needed to change that and so in came "DIDI_60LBS_BY 60" came close but no cigar lol

My Family's the most important part of my life!!

I'm 63 years young :o) Married 40 years to DH #2, (Spark People HARLEYWANNABE) soul mate, best friend, we have 2 Adult Children (Daughter 37 Son 34 and 5 ADORABLE! Grandchildren (11, 10, 6, 2 and 3 months .... and of course "Moby the 4th" our Lovebird

My Health:
- Chronic Migraines for the past 45 years (average 15/mth ....triggered by weather and barometer fluctuations.

Tracking is so very important. Glad you are faithful with this. How did you do today ?? It's harder to do when there is a little bit of this and a little of that made with a variety of ingredients. I manage to but I keep my eyes on what,,how much of things goes into the recipe.

I don't celebrate holidays,,,, but I hope ur was well.

I'm going for a short walk tomorrow using my knee walker tomorrow along the harbor. I live on the harbor,,,,which has a walking past which is eventually will be connected through Southern Maine.. Right now our city is connected with Portland.

What helps you the most with losing weight? For me it's tracking my food. Without doing so,,, I'd severely over do!!!

Hi Hon,,, WOW have you been through a LOT!!! Twelve years of being bedridden is a long time,!!! I was on and off for 3 years,,,with 6 months of not being able to do around but the bathroom and grab something quickly from the kitchen. Thankfully I was quickly able to get a power chair,,,I started to fight for myself. My Dr told me I'd be in the chai for life,,,to STOP trying. That PISSED me off,,, I grabbed the railing outside,,, walked a few steps,,, many of my neighbors started to cheer me on. Later that yr I was up to a mile!!

Now I have many feet problem,,,am back to using my chair,,or knee walker. U did EXCELLENT in what u gained,,, I had gone from 115, to an amazing 288!!! It's a battle. I go up and down. I'm amazed at how well you have done.

Can't wait to know you better!!
