My name is Brandeis. I am the mother of three wonderful children 13, 11 and 9. They keep me very busy. I also work full time as a correctional officer. This is not my first time doing Sparkpeople (I have the unfortunate problem of falling off the wagon). This time my goal is to lose weight for my niece's wedding but ultimately, I want to change my life for good. I'm tired of this yo yo way of life. I want to be fit for my children and husband. I want my sister to stop worrying about me because of my weight. I want to become visible to people, instead of someone that everyone glances at then quickly looks away. I want to stop thinking in my head what those people are thinking, the negative thoughts that go through my head. I want to be healthy. It's my time and I'm not going to let life pass me by anymore. My goal for this is 100 pounds in a year. I really hope I will make this goal.

I find it hard to stay motivated but with the help of my Sparkpeople friends, I think I can do it this time.

Update: 12/29/15-Well, I have hit a goal (not my ultimate goal) I have officially lost 100 pounds in 9 months. I would like to lose another 57 pounds to be half my heaviest weight but I will be happy with whatever the scale stops at.

My Goals:
I would like to run in my second 5K at my church September 2016.

I want to change my life to be someone my children can look up to.
I want to be here for my children and husband for as long as I can.


My Program:
Walk at least 30 5-7 days a week. I try for an hour when I have time. Sometimes I walk 2x's a day for 30 minutes each time.

I do a routine of strength training 5x's a week.

I use myfitnesspal for my food diary. I have just found that it is easier to use and seems like the is more foods in the database.

My name is Brandeis, I am from Topeka, Kansas. I am married to Matthew for 3 years in October, he is my knight in shining armor, although I gained 100 pounds since we got together. I have 3 wonderful children from a previous marriage, Sierra, Zachary and Dakota. They are the loves of my life, along with my husband and dog Rascal.


I have yo-yo dieted for so long that I am now trying to make this a permanent change.
