Harvest from my garden, July 15, 2008
Home is where the heart is.
I've spent the past 11 years taking care of my husband and helping him return to his healthy self after a devastating stroke.
Now it's time to take care of me. It's time to exercise again, to lose the pounds that crept up while he was losing weight, and to prepare for the rest of my life - and our life together - a life that will be healthy, productive and fun.
I've never been athletic, but I do enjoy bicycling, walking and hiking, swimming and water aerobics, and gardening. Recently I realized that my husband has his life back, and it's time for me to take mine back too!
1. Wear my favorite emerald green dress again
2. Lower my cholesterol and blood pressure
3. Lose 10 more pounds
1. Tracking what I eat
2. Letting go of "shoulds"
3. Making exercise a part of my daily life
I live in Fremont , CA with my husband and too many cats. I love gardening (roses, herbs, veggies), knitting, reading (mysteries), jazz, cooking, and visiting San Francisco. I am a private pilot, motorcycle rider, scuba diver, and am restoring a 1956 Nash Metropolitan. At work, I'm a Technical Project Manager.
Some of my favorite things:
1. Hatch green chile
2. Bruce Springsteen
4. Bull Durham
5. Texas Tech Red Raiders
6. Green Bay Packers
7. New York Yankees
8. Meyer Lemons
