Decided to try Sparkpeople today. I was attending school for the last 3 years and the pounds slowly crept up from 125 in the beginning to 139 today. Hopefully this site will keep me focused to eat smaller portions of food and exercise at least 5 timse a wk. I pray this works. Goal is to lose at least 10 lbs:)

Hi, I'm from Harlingen, TX and am married and have 1 gorgeous n extremely active little boy. Excited to get my first job as a RN but also worried that I won't have time to workout on days were I work 12 hr shifts. I know anything is possible so looking foward to my obstacles and overcoming them.

Thanks for your advice. Your really getting me excited to start this amazing career. I really do want to do telemetry then advance to ICU and hopefully one day be knowledgable enough to do CVR. I was second guessing the 12 our shifts but not anymore. Thanks so much:)

Thanks for adding me as a friend. You are too young and healthy and have too many years to work to limit yourself to places that have "regular hours." You can move from telemetry to ICU, ER, Cath Lab, OR, PACU and other areas of skill and challenge. You may be tired when you get done with the day, but you will enjoy your work so much more as it will challenge you.

You can do this and you can find time in the day to work out if that is what you need to do. You may want to consider making your rest day one of those days.
