I made fantastic progress and lost 100 pounds in the first year BUT I became careless about nutrition and exercise and have gained a lot of the pounds back! I became disgusted with myself and closed my Spark account, but soon realized I NEEDED to be here. I'm back using the nutrition and exercise trackers now - they are so important. Welcome to SparkPeople! I'm a 63 year old grandma who's lost 57 pounds in the last year. It's not easy but Spark has made such a difference for me. Tracking my food and committing to daily exercise (10 minutes at first) have been key for me. You might consider joining a team or two to find like-minded people.
This site is full of resources and support. My advice is to start with small changes at first that you can sustain over time. I didn't really figure out regular exercise until half-way through my weight loss journey. Now I record every bite I eat, keep track of calories and nutrition, and enjoy regular activities that get me moving.
Hi ...alot of your notes sound like me....almost 64, grandma, achy knees, not quite retired tho. I think of food and my weight constantly and it never helps ! I hope to try this website and change my thinking !!
